About Me

Hello!! I am currently a graduate student at California State University, Los Angeles, working towards my MS in Physics. My research interests broadly include black hole physics, strong gravity, and space-based instrumentation.  I am currently a member of LIGO, where I work on improving methods for estimating black hole mass and spin from gravitational-wave data.

Outside of research, I enjoy reading non-fiction or drawing, particularly spaceships and other space-related objects.

I am originally from the south side of Chicago and attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, where I majored in Engineering Physics. During my undergraduate studies, I worked on improving the housing for a miniature diffraction grating spectrometer as part of the MACRO Consortium.  I presented this work at the APS March Meeting.

I also worked with the Augustana College Quantum Optics research group to develop an SPDC (spontaneous Parametric down-conversion) setup. The computational side of this research was completed with a final project in our Electricity and Magnetism class, while the experimental side was completed during a directed study in the spring of my senior year. I presented this work at my college's spring research symposium.

I will add my Github soon, which will have more documentation of the projects that I am working on:
